“El Bolero De Raquel” (1957)
This is a great dance number starring Mexico’s famous comedian “Cantinflas”. In this clip bootblacks (shoe shiners) in Mexico are called “boleros” so when Mimi is told she is next with Ravel’s Bolero, poor Cantinflas assumes he is the one they need. What starts as one of the most sensual scenes in Mexican cinema ends up in the most unexpected way.
I love old cinema, so rich and pure!
